I’ve tried out a Nikon Coolpix P6000, but I have yet to get a Canon G10 in my hands because they were just released. Eventually I will be getting a Nikon D700 or something similar, but I need a decent quality camera right now - not months from now. Thanks for your help!”

“The mega pixel thing is somewhat of a concern but the tech behind the sensors is improving so you’re not doomed to noisy pics with a 14 or 13.5mp camera. I am going to get a Nikon p6000 because I like the menus and the design better than the LX3 or G10. They all are great p&s cameras but the highest quality will probably come from the Lumix LX3 because of its lens.”
