A recent survey by the Leichtman Research Group (LRG) shows that 18 percent of HDTV owners think they’re watching high-definition shows, when in fact they’re viewing standard definition programming.

By the Name,SDTV for Standard Definition) and HDTV for High Definition.the SDTV are for people who want a regular TV without paying for all that fancy picture/extra programming for the High Definiton picture,and HDTV is the resolution.You can find the screen shapes are different, ones square and the other it Rectangle. Picture capabilites are much better than an ordanary TV.Sound and aspect ratio is one benefit of HDTV, but not the biggest advantage.
